Memetics is created based on Darwin’s theory of evolution,which hasattracted more and more attentions from scholars at home and abroad.“Cultural evolution” seems to be become a topic of interest. This thesis isbased on Mimetic and combined with domestic and international researchresults on Chinese network popular words. As we know, this kind of popularwords is regarded as a particular social dialect which needs to be studiedcarefully. The author of this thesis use a method named classification toanalyze dialect and give an explanation of why these popular words arepopular so that we call them “strong memes”. Previous studies have onlydiscussed Memetics,after that they simply give some examples to provewhat they have said. By doing this, we feel that this kind of thesis is a littlebit rough. But by classifying the network popular words and then use themethod to explain that seems to be a better and more accurate way tolanguage facts so that we can make a further move to study this theory. This thesis is divided into five sections: the first chapter is theintroduction describes the background, scope, purpose and the method ofstudying this thesis. Chapter two reviews the theoretical studies of scholarsat home and abroad. Chapter three describes the theoretical basis of thepapers and examples to explain. Chapter four is the main part of the article.This chapter combines classified memetics with qualitative analysis in whichimproves the lack of previous study by stating pictures, numbers,punctuation and voice that have been neglected before. Chapter five is theconclusion of the article. In here the author summarizes the characteristicsand causes of the strong net popular words meme and gives a objectiveevaluation of buzzwords, and also forecasts the development trend of thefuture net work of network popular words.Corpuses in this article are selected from the major sites, forums, chatlanguage so that they are detailed and reliable. This article describes networkpopular words by taken on basis of qualitative analysis, and supplementedby quantitative analysis.
