Kangxi was a great man of the emperor in ancient China. Duing his region, he made great contributions to state unification and national unity. Kangxi' s thoughts of national relationship is mainly made up of seven parts. Firstly, great unification; Secondly,Zhongwaiyiti; Thirdly, using the force in the war, comforting the state in peace; Forth,advocating the virtue ranther than force; Fifth, ruling according to nationality customs;Sixth, advocating leniency; Seventh, Junchenyiti. Among these thoughts, great unification is the core; Zhongwaiyiti is an important part; using the force in the war, comforting the state in peace is the basic policy of the ethnic relationship thoughts. Advocating the virtue ranther than force is the important feature of the ethnic relationship thoughts; ruling according to nationality customs, advocating leniency, Junchenyiti are the important contents of the ethnic relationship thoughts. The national relationship thoughts of Kangxi is not only affected by Confucian doctrine, traditional national relationship, but also related with his Grandmother Xiaozhuang. The unity of ethnic relationship thoughts and politicals thoughts,daring to break though shackles of the tranditional ethnic relationship thoughts, the systematic integrity of theoretical are the salient features of Kangxi' s thoughts of national relationship. Kangxi' s thoughts of national relationship has an important role in the history of ethnic relations in China, but there are historical limitations.It can help us to understand the context of the history of ethnic relationship in China to Compare to the different thoughts about Kangxi and Han Wu-di?Ming Tai-zu.
