A Study Of Jin Ziwei's Novels

Jin Ziwei, one of the outstanding contemporary writers from Liao Ning province, is really a productive one and whose works were reprinted by many influential newspapers and periodicals from home and abroad, and were widely acclaimed by readers. He began writing since the 1980 s. Up to now, he has published literary works about 3 million words which are very popular and won various awards. Jin Zi Wei's creation has experienced avant-garde and realism. Especially in the new century, he keeps writing and creates a lot of excellent works which were highly evaluated by critics. This thesis chooses Jin Zi Wei's chinese novles as the object of study, and it intends to provide a systematic and comprehensive analysis. This thesis, based on an intensive reading of the text, intends to analyze Jin Ziwei's works from the following aspects: Jin Ziwei's great care about the living status and spiritual dilemma of the urban common people, the recalling of his childhood and the artistic property of his works.The first part concentrates on the living picture and spiritual dilemma of the urban common people. By blending his office-working experience into his works,he successfully created this kind of office novels with which he provided his penetrating description of the civil servant's spiritual anxiousness. He discussed the paradox of humanity through the absurdity of the life of common citizens, so that he can cause people to reflect on their humanity. And at the same time, he put his attention to the marginal people by picturing their spiritual loneliness under double pressure.The second part concentrates on Jin Ziwei's novels about childhood, including the real society situation under specific period of the author's childhood, the Cultural Revolution culture and on the northeastern border culture showed in the double clues of cultural revolution environment and children perspective;the beautiful and sad love story of women on the northeast border with the personality in the special time.Based on the analysis of the above two parts, the third part will concentrate on the artistic characteristics of Jin Ziwei's novel. It can be inferred that Jin Ziwei's novels have the characters of modernism and avant-garde from the employment of modern rhetorical devices. Through intensive reading and analysis, it can be found that his narrative structure varies a lot from the "left- back" structure to the “multiple line” structure and open structure, etc. This has shown his mastership in narration art. The narrative style is always warm in his calm description. The warm care reflected in the calm narrative reflects the personality of the narrative style of Jin Zi Wai. However, the same warm ending of his novels becomes a limitation of his creation.All in all, Jin Ziwei's concern about the common urban people, the present life and i nnovative experimental characteristics make his novels penetrating to the reality and easy to struck a responsive chord in the hearts of his readers which lead them to think abo ut life and humanity.
