According to the data released by the National Bureau of statistics at the end of February 2016, China's urbanization rate has reached 56.10% in 2015, Chongqing's urbanization rate is 60.94% in the same year. Affected by the rapid expansion of the city and the rapid growth of the population, the of traditional fortress in the new urban areas continue to suffer from the erosion and destruction of nature, on the other hand, the contradiction between urban expansion and construction is increasing.Chongqing has a large number of traditional fortress, which were built in the Ming and Qing Dynasties under the pressure of the white lotus and bandit. Through the "Bao Jia Lian Jian" and "family construct on their own", many fortress were built and played a big role. When the cold weapon era past, they gradually faded out of the people's attention,because of the weakening of the function and traffic inconvenience. Now with the gradual expansion of the city, fortress in these areas take this opportunity to regain attention. Fortress are not only the defense works with highly regional characteristics, but also the precious cultural heritage of the city. In the new urban area, how can fortress seize the opportunity to get a new life, to integrate itself into the modern life, is the focus of this paper.The first chapter of this paper describes the research background, purpose and significance, related concepts, research status, methods and framework.The second chapter describes location and classification, historical development of the traditional fortress in Chongqing, sorts out the characteristics of each period of fortress in Chongqing area, and then make a investigation and analysis of the fortress in this area.The third chapter begins with the characteristics of the new urban areas in Chongqing, and analyzes the two characteristics of the "historical culture" and "mountain landscape" of the traditional villages and the environment. Then analyze the impact of the new urban areas on the fort, and the reality of the plight of the use of. Finally the similar to the fort and stockade Mountain Park, ruins park, passes Fort scenic spot investigation analysis, which provide a reference for design strategy.In the fourth chapter, it discusses the renewal and utilization strategy of the "peripheral area"(including the mountain landscape in the walled Castle) in the urban planning and landscape design level. Strategy mainly from the urban public open space, "defense" cultural tourism resources integration, and the new district planning and construction, the development of synchronous update, four aspects of the mountain landscape design.In the fifth chapter, it discusses the renewal and utilization strategy of the "core area"(i.e., the walled and less area) in the building design level. Mainly includes the village wall body of update and utilization strategy, Bao Zhai "linear confining" characteristics of the architectural layout of the strategy, based on Fort different function tendency of design strategy and fortress building symbols and materials of update and utilization strategy four aspects based on.The sixth chapter is mainly for the fourth and five chapter of the update and the use of the strategy in the practice of the specific use of the case. Taking the planning and design of Baiyun Village in Chongqing as an example, the specific strategies of planning and landscape design are analyzed, and the renewal and utilization strategy and design process of the "core area" are analyzed.The seventh chapter, the conclusion, the innovation point and the insufficiency, carries on the summary to the research content, summarizes the innovation point of this article, and puts forward the problem in the research.
