| This study is based on the learning strategy related theory, and the author’s personal teaching experience. The Author not only conducted a survey and interviews, but also analyzed the present situation of foreign children’s Chinese character learning strategies, and investigated foreign children’s Chinese literacy levels. SPSS software was used to statistically analysis the data from questionnaire, and came to the following conclusions: Children from different national-ethnic backgrounds have different Chinese character learning strategy selections, and the choices of different Chinese character learning strategies have different influences on the learning effect; The use of learning strategies may exist since childhood, and it has a certain continuity; Those foreign children who are learning well tend to learn Chinese characters in diverse ways; Parents have great influences on children’s selections of Chinese character learning strategies.This report provides some opinion and suggestions on teaching Chinese characters. Teachers should first guide the foreign children to use more effective Chinese character learning strategies; the second suggestion, need to point out the importance of the choice of Chinese character learning strategies and learning habits for children; the third suggestion, guide foreign children with more diverse learning strategies; and finally, help foreign children’s parents build a good Chinese character learning atmosphere at their homes. Hope to enrich the Chinese international education, Chinese characters teaching experience and the second language learners’ learning strategy research. |
