This thesis is divided into four chapters. The first chapter is Introduction that mainly introduces the reason of writing and the significance of the study. Also, the research status and research methods are described in this chapter.The second chapter is the comparison study of "Shimu" and "wood" of the same release-- the relationship between word and its interpretation. There are three parts in this chapter: the first part is the comparisons of the words that are very close selected from "Shimu" and "wood" by the authors for comparison. They are interpreted to 13 styles and classified as A, B, et. al. classes. In the second part, the author mainly discusses the cases that the words with same glyphs and interpretation, and that the words with same glyphs but totally different interpretation(i.e., the mentioned same homonymy phenomenon). In the third part, the author outlines the inheritance and development of interpretation forms of "wood" from the "Shimu".The third chapter is the comparison of "Shimu" and "wood" on the way of interpretation. This chapter is divided into three parts: the first part is on the discussion of the way of interpretation in "Shimu" and "wood". The second part mainly discusses the "Shimu" and "wood" shortcomings on the way of interpretation. The third part mainly discusses the inheritance and development of "wood" from "Shimu".The fourth chapter is the summarization of the full text.
