Considering the importance of the technology and innovation in development nowadays, the primary objective of the 3rd International Conference on Rural Development and Entrepreneurship is to provide more effective technology-oriented solutions to rural development. I was chosen as an interpreter for the opening ceremony of this conference. With relative translation theories as guidance, I made a case analysis of the text compiled from the voice recordings. This interpreting practice is Chinese-English interpretation. This report consists of five chapters which are task description, process description, preparation for the task, case analyses and summary. Chapter 1 introduces the task source, including background and relative information about the conference. Then Chapter 2 generally introduces the schedule of the whole interpreting, from accepting the task to summarization after the completion of the interpreting practice. Chapter 3 describes the importance of the preparations for an interpreter from five perspectives and my preparations on this conference respectively. In Chapter 4, which is the core chapter of this report, applying the dynamic equivalence translation theory of Eugene A. Nida,I analyze part of the text compiled according to the voice recorder, and further analyzed the rest of the text from the perspectives of word, sentence structure, colloquial expression, literal translation, etc. In Summary, I summarize the lessons and experience extracted from this interpretation practice. Inspired by this interpreting practice, I further analyzed the factors that help to make a qualified interpreter. I hope this report can provide some references to other interpreters or interpreting learners.
