| As one of the variants of Chinese,Malaysian Chinese is affected by the complex social language environment in Malaysia. Compared with the mandarin,Malaysian Chinese has its own characteristics in many aspects as pronunciation,vocabulary and grammar. But confining the research with the characteristics in aspects of pronunciation,vocabulary,grammar cannot fully show the status of the Malaysian Chinese. When examining the unique characteristics of Malaysian Chinese,we cannot ignore the same parts between Malaysian Chinese,mandarin and other Chinese variants. Only in this way can we get a comprehensive understanding to Malaysian Chinese,can fully show the "diversity" of Malaysian Chinese.This kind of "diversity" shows in "synonymous polymorphic" and "isomorphic polysemy". "Synonymous polymorphic" means compared to the modern standard Chinese, Malaysian Chinese has more expressions to express the same concept. And "isomorphic polysemy" means that the same term has more meanings than it in the mandarin.Different from the methods before which is researched by telling examples to describe the features of the usage of Malaysian Chinese,this research will be based on a self-built "Malaysian Chinese corpus(record for MHYL,about 3 million words)". Based on the corpus,we can research on the diversity of the Malaysian Chinese nouns by quantitative. Several forms of "Synonymous polymorphic",several meanings of "isomorphic polysemy" can be studied quantitatively by using the corpus. On the basis of telling the examples,we can show the "amount" of all kinds of forms and meanings in Malaysian Chinese.After showing some examples and doing the corpus-based quantitative research for the nouns with "diversity", the cause and the sources of the diversity will also be studied in this article. we can not only show the synchronic appearance of Malaysian Chinese nouns,but also do some fundamental work for Malaysian Chinese nouns diachronic evolution research and overseas Chinese cross-variants research. |
