In order to save Confucian ethics from decadence, Tang Chun-I tried to make Confucian ethics transform tradition to modernity by building a moral metaphysics system which makes "mind ontology-moral self" as the core. The thought of moral self originates from Thought of Mind and German classical philosophy mainly. Moral self is the source of moral value and lying in cultural activities which comes from the concept of intuitive knowledge. The metaphysics source of Confucian morality is rebuilt because mind ontology is the noumenon of universe as well as moral self. With regard to self-cultivation theory, Wang Yang-ming's emphasis on "one thought" use for reference to Tang Chun-I's self-cultivation theory. On this basis, Tang Chun-I proposed moral education theory with "Li-yue" as core and tried to combine self-cultivation and "Li-yue" life. The modern transformation on ideal personality theory mainly relies on "Gan-tong" which is a cognitive method of subject-object unity. Different from traditional Confucian ideal personal saint, Tang Chun-I proposed that modern ideal personality is trinity personality. Moreover, in order to make Confucian moral principles rational, Tang Chun-I emphasized moral self is the metaphysics source of Confucian moral principles. The thought of moral self is the inheritance and development of Thought of Mind. Tang Chun-I made Confucian ethics possess period feel and practicality by transforming Confucian ethics through conception and logic of modern philosophy. The thought of moral self proves the existence of mind ontology and makes the logic more rigorous. It develops the moral mind in Thought of Mind to moral and intelligent mind then modifies Confucian pan-moralism tend.
