The ethical thought of Modern Neo-Confucianism was established when the western influence was extending to the east, the traditional values were decomposed and Chinese cultures were on the decline. The ethical thought of Modern Neo- Confucianism which was based on traditional Confucianism tried to combine western ethical theories and it represents the efforts to save social ethic and to restore the ethic of Confucianism. The ethical thought of modern neo- Confucianism is both extensive and profound, combining the expounding and advocating of traditional ethic, the retrospection of modern ethic and the restoration of new ethic.
