As a "leader of the southeast literary circles" in late Yuan Dynasty of ancient China, Yang Weizhen (1296-1370) was erudite and talented and reputed as a maverick calligrapher of the historical period. His calligraphy works were characterized by an unbridled, uninhibited and extraordinary style, and combined the characteristics of Zhangcao, Jincao and Xingcao. And it was of great significance for the development of "Poti calligraphy".The contemporary calligraphy has diversity characteristics, and Yang's "Poti calligraphy", the study of Yang's "Poti calligraphy" is of great significance, it can enrich the understanding of the broken body of calligraphy. Yang's "Poti calligraphy "is under the influence of the age, culture, and Chinese calligraphy, and harmoniously integrates the five calligraphic styles (namely, seal script, official script, regular script, semi-cursive script and full cursive script) as a whole, contributing greatly to the development of "Poti calligraphy. And the paper analyzes the causes of his calligraphy in terms of addresses the technique of writing, structure and style to draw a conclusion on the characteristics of Yang's "Poti calligraphy".My own calligraphy creations absorb the characteristics of Yang's "Poti calligraphy", and use it to my own calligraphy creation. Furthermore, many skills of calligraphy of Huai su, Wang xizhi, Wang xianzhi and Wang duo are used in the author's own calligraphy, and shed some light on the author's own calligraphy creations in future.
