Research On The Historical Materials Of Music In Huainanzi·Tianwenxun

Huainanzi(???),compiled by the king of Huainan state Liu An together with his followers in Western Han Dynasty,is a work of great significance that consists of plentiful precious character material.The word document about music mainly has its place in volume three Tianwenxun(???),which shows great value.Many a scholars have managed to explore the historical material of music in Tianwenxun and created various academic ideas and unsolved mysteries because of its complex expressions combined with astronomy calendar.Based on previous achievements in this field,this thesis adopts such research methods as historical textual study,comparative analysis as well as literature review to make a comprehensive and insightful exploration of historical material of research in Tianwenxun.The thesis includes six parts,among which chapter three,four and five are the body part.The introduction part states the significance and literature review of this topic.Academic studies about origins of historical material of music in Huainanzi,musical theories and aesthetic thoughts of music get a careful induction.Chapter one serves as a historical study of Huainanzi,in which the authors,the structure and versions of this book are illustrated.Chapter two concentrates on the cultural background of Huainanzi·Tianmenxun,which is analyzed from three aspects.The third chapter explains the material of music.The author conducts an analysis of historical material of music and investigates the origins of some material.Chapter four focus on the literature review of historical material of music in Huainanzi·Tianwenxun,analyzing Tianwenxun and comparing it with relative documents in Zhou,Qin and Han Dynasties in a diachronic way so as to find the correlations.The last chapter makes the study of historical material of music in Tianwenxun from oriental music theory as its key point.Keeping previous studies in mind,the author discusses several theoretical issues in Tianwenxun.
