The practice report takes note-taking assistance as the focus,with Obama's speech at St.Benedict University as the interpreting materials,aiming at the difficulties and problems found in the interpreting process,proposes the relative solutions to explore the application of note-taking assistant interpreting strategies.The translation difficulties and problems are mainly defined as language selection of note-taking,structure adjustment of the note-taking and symbolic specification of note-taking.Considering the effectiveness of the consecutive interpreting,the language of note-taking should be inclined to the source language or the target one,or the mixture of both;how to arrange the note-taking structure and its adjustments and how to use the symbol to make the note-taking clearer.The solutions for the translation problems are: try to use the target language for the note-taking,if the target words are too long or the characters are too complex,use the source language or the abbreviation of the source language;try to grasp the key information of the source language,remember the logical relationship between the contents,make the note-taking vertical,each sense group in one line,pay attention to the use of delimiters;try to be familiar with the commonly used symbols,abbreviated forms and shorthand methods,create own symbols;try to take brain memory as the principal issue,note-taking as the assistance.The case analysis shows that these solutions are contribute to Chinese consecutive interpreting of English public speaking assisted by note-taking with certain guiding significance and practical value.
