The Study Of Conjunction System In Shuihudi Bamboo Slips Of Qin Dynasty Tomb

Shuihudi bamboo slips of Qin dynasty tomb whose main contents are literature language materials of legal documents and oracle inscriptions.Since it was unearthed,the research of it mainly concentrated in the explanations of difficult words from the perspective of philology or form law,history,culture and so on.However,the research of vocabulary and grammar from the language perspective are relatively small,much less the study of function words in grammar.Chinese function words' study is an indispensable part of the research of Chinese language history.Documents handed down cannot be compared with documents unearthed for which is a true record of the language and words of Qin Dynasty.It provides us with valuable literature language materials.So the study of Chinese function words on documents unearthed is of much great significance.This paper based on Shuihudi bamboo slips of Qin dynasty tomb which was published by the cultural relics publishing house in 1990.The object of the study is the conjunction system in Shuihudi bamboo slips of Qin dynasty tomb.Conjunction is a kind of function words which is one of the most important means of Chinese grammar meaning and plays an important role in Chinese grammar study.Conjunctions are used most frequently except adverb as function words in Shuihudi bamboo slips of Qin dynasty tomb.So the systematic study of conjunctions its importance is self-evident.In this paper,the conjunctions in Shuihudi bamboo slips of Qin dynasty tomb is systematically catalogued with enclosed research in order to promote the study of the bamboo slips and silks' function words,provide the subject of function words and bamboo slips and silks a reference basis,promote the latest research and provide further study materials to the research on the history of Chinese grammar.This paper is divided into three chapters.The first chapter is the introduction part which divided into three sections.The first two sections outlined the main research subjects,the selected topic basis,the research status and the research methods in this paper.The third section classified the conjunctions of Shuihudi bamboo slips of Qin dynasty tomb into seven categories according to the definition and classification of conjunctions by academia.They are coordinating conjunctions,conjunctions,adversative conjunctions,progressive conjunctions,hypothetical conjunctions,causal conjunctions,alternative conjunctions.The second chapter is the main body of this paper which sums up and sorts out the conjunctions in Shuihudi bamboo slips of Qin dynasty tomb according to the previous classification criteria.Each conjunction's grammatical function are counted and analyzed systematically with illustrations.And there is a summary on each of the usage of conjunctions.The third chapter is the conclusion which briefly analyzes the process and usage of the conjunctions in Shuihudi bamboo slips of Qin dynasty tomb and concludes that the usage and distribution of each conjunction is uneven with a table enclosed.
