Through studying Yang Chu’s thought foreign scholars are gaining interest in exchanges between the oriental and West cultures. At the beginning of the new century, under the influence of a variety of thoughts the Western society has become more complex and domestic, with special attention on how to solve social problems. Foreign Sinologists have to interpret contemporary social theory core ideas, while Yang Chu’s thoughts have rich connotation which could be complementary to the West cultures. For example, his thought of individualism, egoism (i.e., "for me", "light was born again" and thought), has brought confusion to Western society, and opened the door to old Yang Chu culture. This paper studied overseas Sinology philosophy of Yang Chu, and summarized the studies of foreign Sinology. Chinese and foreign scholars have put his thoughts into academic life, epistemology, political philosophy and other parts, although the interpretation of Yang Chu could be extended to other sides of our thoughts from the Western context, such as egoism, individualism, hedonism outlook, anarchism, etc. From different domestic scholars, foreign scholar’s standing of "otherness" in Yang Chu thought, which left the real context of Yang Chu and ignored the integrity of his thought, it is difficult to fully grasp Yang Chu’s true intentions.
