| With the development of social economy, people’s living standard is improving. Buying luxury goods overseas seems to become a trend, which has a strong impact on domestic enterprises. Therefore, this report has taken Global Powers of Luxury Goods 2015 which was issued at June 17 th in the year of 2015 by Deloitte as a research object, and the author hopes this translation may serve as a guide to Chinese companies and domestic brands. The content includes: an outlook on the global economy; an analysis of market capitalization in the luxury goods industry; a look at merger & acquisition activity in the industry; and a discussion on engaging the future luxury consumer. The author is responsible for the translation of the first two parts of this text.This report is composed of four parts. The first part introduces makes a brief introduction to the background, significance, and objectives of translation work briefly. The second part provides an introduction to the guiding theory—Functional Equivalence theory. The third part explores the specific problems encountered in the translation process and puts forward his solutions in the examples analysis. The fourth part summarizes the translation experience, and the author also points out some aspects which need to be improved at the end of this report.The author translates this text guided by Eugene Nida’s theory of Functional Equivalence and uses some translation techniques such as amplification, omission, division to analyze problems in the translation. Through this translation activity, the author realizes the importance of theoretical knowledge, and has a further insight into the applied translation. |
