Cai Mingliang is one of film authors who has had a distinctive character and style in the contemporary Taiwan even the world's filmdom since 1990 s.He has made an unique and assignable contribution to innovation of film languages and exploration of film styles.He has also made undeniable contribution to rich and innovate the shapes of Chinese films and push Chinese films moving further to the world.In Cao's films with slow pace,we can see a lonely individual,an indifference space,and an alienated feeling,which is without beginning and ending.It seems to build an unacquainted world.Director Cai shapes the film with the method that he has gradually explored for more than 20 years.Director Cai holds the belif and attachment like a saint to try his best to make the love of the film with loniness and exile flow into every audience's heart.The thesis will study and sort out the films which have been created by Director Cai in more than 20 years.It will also deep and analysis every layer by following his route step by step to show and discuss his unique creative methods and development of his ideas,so we can achieve the goal of the appreciation and study of Cai's works into deeper layer.From “deconstruction” and “recombination”,the thesis will be divided into three chapters to make conclusions of Cai's film style's transformation in his creation.The transformation is from upholding realism to deconstruct film languages endlessly to reach the step of exploring the essence of films,and to the step of artistry of films and the combination of films and contemporary arts.The process will be a main line running through the whole thesis.This is a process of Cai's exploration in films.it also make us understand Cai's work more deeply and clearly from longitudinal angle.
