"V not V" is the most common in modern Chinese interrogative sentences, it is also one of the most frequently used forms in our life, and it is the most representative of the type of the positive and negative question. It plays a very important role in both oral and written Chinese. As a unique form of interrogative sentence in Chinese, there is no form of interrogative sentence in English with the "V not V" format. Therefore, in the teaching of Chinese as a foreign language, the Chinese positive rhetorical question "V not V" format is one of the key points, but also a difficult point, the results of the research on the errors have a certain value in promoting the relevant practical teaching.This thesis we take the Acquisition Errors of "V not V" by English Speaking Students as the research object. From the perspective of researches on teaching Chinese as a foreign language, we aim at studying the acquisition rules and characteristics of the "V not V" and its error condition, to provide some effective advice and suggestions for the teaching of related questions.This paper is divided into 6 chapters:Chapter one is the introduction, which mainly introduces the purpose and significance of the researches, the current situation of the related research, research methods and the source of the corpuses.Chapter two is based on the ontology research, sketch the "V" of "V not V", omitted and deformation, syntactic function, sentence type, pragmatic meaning and the comparison of the corresponding questions in English.In the third chapter, from the perspective of error analysis, we discuss the condition of acquisition error by English Speaking Students of "V not V", analysis the errors according to the situation of the errors, and explore the causes of errors, including generalization, analogy, hybridity, error generation, wrong sequence error types. Based on the error analysis, the author explores the causes of the four types of errors, including the negative transfer of mother tongue, the interference of Chinese language, the avoidance and the mistakes in teaching and learning.Chapter four is based on the the acquisition errors of "V not V", put forward related reflections on teaching, and give some advises and suggestions in teaching.Chapter five combine with the author’s teaching practice, make a instructional design of "V not V" for the Chinese learners who are speaking English.The last is the conclusion. It summarizes the conclusion and the shortcomings of this paper.
