Dali, an international tourism city, has attracted millions of foreign visitors. In recent years, tourism industry, as the pillar of economic growth, has enjoyed rapid development and thus claims higher demand for competent tourist guides and interpreters. Accordingly, the study on tourism interpreting is worthwhile. This report discusses the application of interpreter's subjectivity on tourism interpreting and to what extent interpreters can apply this theory. As a practice report, the author presents preparation before the task, interpreting process and summary after the task. With the scenic spots of Dali as subject, Chinese-English consecutive interpreting as practice and interpreter's subjectivity as theoretic foundation, the report is written with interpreting recordings of the author's internship in Dali Tourism Development and Management Council, and examples in misinterpreting, omission, improper diction, grammar mistakes and term obstacles are also analyzed. Interpreting strategies such as supplementation, simplification, analogy, generalization and visualization are deployed to discuss the application of interpreter's subjectivity. The report indicates that the theory can not only serve literature translation, but also tourism interpreting, which is comparatively more creative and dynamic than other forms of interpreting. As for the extent, it should be applied flexibly with context born in interpreters'mind. The purpose of this report is to improve interpreters'performance in tourism interpreting from Chinese to English and to promote the development of tourism industry.
