The Relationship Between Parenting Style And Internet Addiction Adolescents:The Mediating Role Of Interpersonal Trust And Loneliness | | Posted on:2017-10-04 | Degree:Master | Type:Thesis | | Country:China | Candidate:J Wu | Full Text:PDF | | GTID:2335330485975951 | Subject:Development and educational psychology | | Abstract/Summary: | PDF Full Text Request | | With the rapidly developing information age,our lives are highly related to the Internet.Resources in the network can not only bring us some benefits but also many negative effects,and the Internet-addiction of adolescent has raised widespread concern in society.Teenagers who immersed in the online world for a long time may have many physical and psychological problems.Studies have showed that parenting is significantly correlated with Internet Addiction Disorder.The thesis will focus Loneliness and Interpersonal Trust about how they impact Parenting and Internet Addiction.What’s more,the difference between the Parenting Style of migrant children and local children and the intermediate mechanisms of Internet Addiction Disorder will be taken into account,which in theory to supplement the relevant outcomes of the Youth Internet Addiction and help teachers and parents to recognize that different students need different types of interventions for reducing the chances of Internet addiction of adolescents.Three schools were selected in Wuhan and Qingdao which 837 students took part in the questionnaire.The result are as follow:1.The number of juvenile internet addiction is 47,accounting for 5.6%of the total number of 837 who are involved in the survey.Internet addiction was more significant in boys rather than girls,while there is no significant difference between migrant children and local children.However,students in eighth-grade was more likely to become Internet addiction than other grades.2.Teenagers have a higher interpersonal trust and lower loneliness.3、The score of mother rearing style slightly higher than the father rearing style,but there is no significant difference.The dimension of father emotional warmth and mother emotional warmth are significantly different between the migrant children and local children,the migrant children feel less concern than local children.The high score group is significant higher than the low score group of network addiction in rejected and overprotected parenting style.4、The Parenting Style of migrant children and local children impact the Internet Addiction Disorder with different path,that there are differences impact mechanism network addiction.5、On the dimension of parents’ refusal,interpersonal trust and loneliness of the local children completely play the role of intermediary.But the parent’s refusal of migrant children can predict adolescent internet addiction directly.The loneliness may be partially mediated between parenting style and network addiction.6、On the dimension of parental warmth,local children and migrant children have the same impact path of internet addiction.The result shows interpersonal trust and loneliness completely play the role of intermediary.7、On the dimension of overprotective parenting,local children’s interpersonal trust and loneliness show no mediation effect between Internet addiction and parental overprotection.However,only through the mediation work of interpersonal trust the parental overprotection can impact adolescent internet addiction for migrant children. | | Keywords/Search Tags: | Internet Addiction, Parental Rearing Pattern, Loneliness, Interpersonal Trust, Migrant Children | PDF Full Text Request | Related items |
