Students' Internet Addiction And Social Characteristics

Internet addiction is accompanied by the development of network technology and the popularization of personal computer, and is a new type of addiction. Young People are the main users of the Internet crowd, there have been serious network problem of excessive use and addiction in university students of our country. Current research on the development of University Students Network and the causes of addiction and other aspects of a number of empirical research has deepened our understanding of this issue. However, previous studies of Internet addiction in college students to explore the psychological impact of the development, most of them from the perspective of personality, social anxiety, loneliness and other aspects of research, interpersonal life is an important element in current college students life, the development of interpersonal life have an important impact on their psychological development aspects. Therefore, it is very necessary to have depth analysis and exploration about Internet Addiction University Students and the characteristics of social interaction, especially in interpersonal trust, social anxiety, the relationship between Social Avoidance, and there are less study in the past.In this study was to investigate university students'characteristics of Internet addiction and social relations. Stratified sampling method, from a polytechnic school in Qingdao test samples were 850, 809 valid questionnaires were valid for the 95.18 percent response rate. In the test groups in testing of the use of four scales: Internet Addiction five self-rating scale; Interpersonal Trust Scale; Social Anxiety Scale; Social Avoidance and Distress Scale. Through statistical analysis of data, the following major conclusions:First, there are 4.45 percent of Internet Addiction, Internet Addiction Group interpersonal trust was significantly lower than non-addicts group; Social Anxiety and Social Avoidance Internet Addiction group was significantly higher than non-addicts group. sophomore networks are a critical period of addiction; boys network addicts was significantly higher than girls; science and engineering students scored significantly higher than liberal arts students in internet addiction.Second, the level of interpersonal trust girls was significantly higher than boys; University Students develop interpersonal trust gender and grade significant interaction, simple effects analysis showed that the boys'freshman level of interpersonal trust was significantly higher than sophomore, junior boys. Male social anxiety was significantly higher than that of girls; major development of social anxiety of university students and new students to a significant interaction, simple effects analysis showed that liberal arts students, the city's social anxiety level of students was significantly higher than rural students.Third, Internet addiction and interpersonal trust was negatively correlated with social anxiety, social avoid significant between the positive correlation; interpersonal trust significantly to the prediction of negative Internet Addiction Disorder, Social Anxiety and Social Avoidance significant being able to network into a prediction addiction. Interpersonal trust has a direct impact on Internet Addiction, interpersonal trust has an indirect effect to internet addiction by Social Anxiety and Social Avoidance, and internet addiction people also can affect interpersonal trust.
