And to confirm that there exists significant differences with regard to the intervention effects between group counseling combining psychotherapy of ritual technology with rational emotional therapy and those only using one therapy. Methods: By using the before and after experimental design, we randomly divided subjects into three experimental groups(group counseling: psychotherapy of ritual technology, rational emotional therapy, a combination of both) and a control group. The measuring tools are SDS, SAS and BHS. The independent variable is experimental interventions of three kinds of group counseling designs. And the dependent variable is the level of depression, anxiety and hopelessness of college students who have experienced love frustration. We use Kruskal-Wallis H test to analyze the pre-test data and the post-test data of all groups. Moreover, the pre-test and post-test data of each group are analyzed by Wilcoxon Signed Ranks Test.Results:(1) After seven times intervention for three experimental groups, there exists significant differences in the pre-test and post-test data concerning subjects’ level of depression, anxiety, hopelessness. While there is no difference in the control group.(2) There is no significant difference between psychotherapy of ritual technology group and RET group after seven times intervention for three experimental groups. While the post-test data of the combined psychotherapy of ritual technology and RET group and psychotherapy of ritual technology group shows significant differences in the level of depression compared with psychotherapy of ritual technology group and significant differences in the level of anxiety compared with RET group and significant differences in the level of hopelessness compared with both psychotherapy of ritual technology group and RET group.Conclusions:(1) All the three kinds of group counseling designs have improved the level of depression, anxiety and hopelessness of college students who have experienced love frustration. Therefore, the group counseling design adopted in this study is a feasible, effective and worthwhile solution.(2) The intervention effects of group counseling produced by the combination of psychotherapy of ritual technology and RET is better than only use one of them.
