Whether to use the media language is always on debate in the field of teaching Chinese as a foreign language. In this paper we found that Russian as a media language helps to promote Chinese teaching,especially for students of the early age after the investigation and the study of the Confucius Institute of Kalmyk State University in Russia. So I compromise on Russian as a media language. That is to say, how much media language the teacher uses should depend on comprehension of learners in practical teaching. Based on the different content, making appropriate adjustment to the use of the media language can be a reasonable way to use Russian as a media language in Chinese teaching.Based on the summarization of the predecessor's experience and combined with the condition of the Confucius Institute of KSU, I'm going to put forward some principles and suggestions on how to use media language of Russian correctly.Preface:The paper mainly summarizes the media language in teaching,development condition of it in teaching Chinese as a foreign language and its main use of Russian.The core part of the paper is divided into three parts.The first part is based on the necessity of the proper use of the media language and explained with specific examples of Confucius Institute of KSU.The second part is to analyze the use of media language in junior and intermediate class in Confucius Institute of KSU. By Analyzing the amount of the Russian the three teachers use, and the demand of the media language in class, combined with the result in classroom assessment, we make a conclusion that Chinese teaching should be based on specific circumstances of teaching content, using the media language with a moderate and appropriate attitude. And this part describes the disadvantage of using too much media language of the Russian in Confucius Institute of KSU.The third part makes a proposal on how to properly use the media language of the Russian on the basis of using principles, classroom expressions and correct awareness of media language.
