| Abstract:This research is based on The Commercial Press Learner’s Dictionary of Contemporary Chinese (LDCC, for short). The purpose of this research study was introducing the LDCC to Thai students, in order to give them more reference books and also improving learning efficiency. The author takes the learning theory as a reference, according to Bruner’s cognitive theory to analyse the dictionary on the characteristics of learning. Whether it can improve the learners’ self study ability or not. According to the analyzing of learner’s dictionary compilation principles, highlighting the study, such as definitions, illustrations, examples, synonym discrimination.The result of the research showed that although the LDCC is a learner’s dictionary for foreigners, but there are still some limitations such as choosing the word for phonetic word. There is no marked in polyphone pronunciation in some place. The examples of the words and phrases are unattractive. It is need to improve. For the effectively learning, this research gives some suggestions for improvement, such as the phonetic word should be commonly used Chinese characters, marked polyphone pronunciation in every places, the examples of the words and phrases should be black bold. Hopefully, in recently years will be appearing the more suitable excellent dictionary for foreign learners. |
