A Translation Project Report On Climate Change,the Indoor Environment,and Health(Chapter 1-4)

This project report focuses on the English to Chinese translation of Chapter 1-4 ofClimate Change, the Indoor Environment, and Health.It is a scientific literature of the threats that climate change poses to the indoor environment and public health. It waswritten by the Committee on the Effect of Climate Change on Indoor Air Quality and Public Health, Institute of Medicine, and published by National Academies Press.This report covers several years' research conducted by Committee on the Effect of Climate Change on Indoor Air Quality and Public Health: how to respond to the climate change and improve indoor environment and public health.This project report mainly consists of four chapters. Chapter 1 presents the background information, objectives, significance and structure of the project report. Chapter 2 introduces the source text, including its author and content, in addition, analyzed its language features, including lexicon features and style features. Chapter 3 describes the difficulties translator encountered and the methods he applied, the translator applied literal translation to deal with the titles of scientific literatures and used logic restructuring to translate long complex sentences under the guidance of Skopos theory. Chapter 4 concludes the project by presenting what the translator has gained and his limitations.
