The Phonetic Study Of “Si Fen Lv Ming Yi Biao Shi”

The Book Si Fen Lv Ming Yi Biao Shi(???????)written by Hong Zan(??)in 1643,includes 1190 pieces of phonetic materials.We study the phonology of these phonetic materials by adopting the methods of computer skills,philology and linguistics research,and Fanqie comparison,based on the Si Fen Lv Ming Yi Biao Shi(???????)from the fifth collection of Fo Xue Ci Shu Ji Cheng(??????).There were five chapters in the thesis:The first chapter is“Introduction”Introducing Hong Zan's(??)life,the version of the book,the structural style,phonetic features,and research profiles.At the same time,the research materials and research methods are also introduced.The second chapter is“The initial consonant research of Si Fen Lv Ming Yi Biao Shi(???????)”.We induced the kinds of initial consonants in Si Fen Lv Ming Yi Biao Shi(???????),and analyzed the causes of phonetic change.The third chapter is“The vowel research of Si Fen Lv Ming Yi Biao Shi(???????)”.We summed up the rhyme categories of Si Fen Lv Ming Yi Biao Shi(???????),finding the characteristics of phonetic change.The fourth chapter is“The tones research of Si Fen Lv Ming Yi Biao Shi(???????)”.Through calculating the statistics of the tones,we found out the features of tones,and the trends of changes.The fifth chapter is “Conclusion”. We summarized the research results and shortcomings of this paper.Some conclusions are listed as follows:1.There were 37 initials in Si Fen Lv Ming Yi Biao Shi(???????).They have the following characters:Voiced sounds turned into voiceless sounds;Bilabials and non-bilabials used each other;Apical consonants merger with dental sounds;The initial consonant group of Zhi(?)combined with the initial consonant groups of Zhuang(?)?Zhang(?);guttural sounds alternated with glottal sounds;there wre some combinations between some initial consonants,such as Ni(?)?Niang(?)and Ri(?),Ri(?)and Chuan(?)?Chan(?),Yun(?)and Yi(?),Ying(?)and Yun(?).2.There were 174vowels in Si Fen Lv Ming Yi Biao Shi(???????),divided into 53 categories.They have the following characters:The vowels in the same tone combinated with each other in some Yunshe(??);Jiang(?)turned into Dangshe(??);The vowels in the same Hu(?)between Zhishe(??)and Xieshe(??)combinated with each others;Kaikouhu(???)mergered with Hekouhu(???);Hongyin(??)mergered with Xiyin(??);there wre some combinations between some vowels,such as Ge(?)and Ge(?),Shen(?)?Zeng(?)?Geng(?)and Zhen(?).3.The tones system in Si Fen Lv Ming Yi Biao Shi(???????)include four tones and eight tunes.They have the following characters:some tones mixed with other three tones;some voiced the Falling-rising tones turned into Falling tones;some Entering-tones entered into the other three tones.This paper is preliminary study on phonetic materials of Si Fen Lv Ming Yi Biao Shi(???????),so there are many aspects to be improved,during the processes of phonetic materials,we study on the surface,and phonetic materials couldn't be carried out depth research;In the paper,we didn't make clear instructions for the nature of phonetic system of Si Fen Lv Ming Yi Biao Shi(???????).It's nature of phonetic system needs futher research.
