A Report On The Translation Of Guide To Purchasing Green Power

This thesis is written as the translation report of Guide to Purchasing Green Power. The Guide is the product of a cooperative effort between EPA, the U.S. Department of Energy(DOE), the World Resources Institute, and the Center for Resource Solutions(CRS). The text belongs to the category of applied translation. And "Translation Skopos Theory" is the main theory to direct the translation. As the most important theory in the functional school in Germany, Translation Skopos Theory is considered to be one of the most suitable theory for the guidance of applied translation. The development of green power industry in our country is relatively backward, the study of Guide to Purchasing Green Power can provide the beneficial reference for our green power promoter and consumers. The translation project report mainly consists of four parts. The first part is the introduction of the translation practice, including its background, significance and structure of the report. The second part is the translation process, including preparation, features of the text, theory selection, and the translation check. The third part is the difficulties and the methods of translation. The forth chapter concludes the enlightenments, lessons and unsolved problems in the translation process.
