Song Xiang is a famous poet in Lingnan area during the Qing dynasty. Since the early period of Qing dynasty, he has become excellent with the poet named Li Jian at the same time, all of whom became dazzling constellation Gemini in the poetic area. His poetry advocated its "true nature" and diversified style against inherited simulation. Although these claims close to Yuan Mei's "Spirit theory " relatively, there exists an obvious difference: Song Xiang's theory is elegant, Yuan Mei's is vulgar. Comprehensiveness and richness of Song Xiang's poetic theory are unmatched with Yuan Mei, but in some insights and public recognition, Song Xiang's poetic theory is more profound than Yuan Mei's Spirit theory.Song Xiang's poetry follows his ideas,he had a coexistence of more than one thousand poems named “Apricot Sanbanggulsa Set”, with the theme of people's livelihood, lyrical emotion, describing landscapes, history nostalgia chant, and singing presenting. All the poems are a true reflection of social reality and the poet's life experience. In regarding to the artistic features, the main topics are prose and poetry with generous and bold mood, all of which outstanding representatives of the Qing Dynasty.This paper consists of six parts. The introduction part is a clear research idea of retrospective study of Song Xiang in the mid-Qing dynasty. The first chapter introduces the life experience and making friends so that people can have a comprehensive understanding of Song Xiang. The second chapter discusses the theory of Song Xiang poetry. The third chapter delves into the implication in different types of poetry based on the analysis of Song Xiang poems. The fourth chapter is featured as Song Xiang discussed poetry. The conclusion part summarized Song Xiang status and influence in the history of the Qing Dynasty literature.
