In the road of pursuing poetic harmony, unity and harmonious balance of "the beauty of circle", he made valuable exploration and practice. XinDi's poetry history tells us:Firstly, how a poet impregnated by classical and traditional chinese poetry using the traditional literature blood flowing in his body to assimilate, digest, and integrate the conventional art nutrients of three main traditional poetry that are the traditional chinese classical poetry, traditional western poetry as well as traditional chinese new poetry and so on. Secondly, how a poet that had a sensitive, tender, introspective, and melancholy "graceful and restrained" personality introspected transformation under the pressure of "reality" and crisis of society environment. He also told us that how a poet went from "gentle implict" to "gloomy solid" and tried to keep the inner link between "art" and "reality" and certain aesthetic distance. This article will take time as a clue to study XinDi's seventy years new poetry creation overall and systematically. Taking the five stages of the XinDi poetry creation as the basis, we strive to grasp the overall style of his poetry creation and comb climb out of the poet's different spirit characteristics and artistic styles of his poetry in each stage systematically. Besides the introduction and conclusion, this paper includes four parts:The first chapter discusses early XinDi's poetry creation features which he sang gradually in his "exquisite" poetry kingdom. Although XinDi lived in prosperous city, he was eager to be a "recluse" away from the hustle and bustle of the city. His aesthetic temperament was misfits with the modern urban environment, which made him a "lonely" walker. Immersed in a personal emotional world to sing, early XinDi's poems of "specification" was relatively narrow in terms of emotional ranges and subject matter contents. At the same time, he was influenced by the classical poetry as a poet that was born from the traditional chinese classical poetry. His early poetry was influenced obviously by "the graceful faction" traditional poetry, especially "morbidezza with implicitness" poetry wind effects, which making his early poems had strong classical flavor and created a comely with graceful artistic conception, presenting the "exquisite" of aesthetics with fine beautiful style. The second chapter analysis Xindi's poetry development changes after his overseas under the influence of modernism and western poetry. In 1936, XinDi went abroad, traveled to England, and studied in the University of Edinburgh. At the parting occasion, he wrote "farewell manifesto"--"the dying city". The poet bade farewell to Beijing and at the same time declared farewel to past life and poetics built on the Life. He expressed the determination to climb the new ladder of art. During his overseas, he boldly absorbed the essence of the western poetry, achieved mastery through comprehension, and his creation of new poetry was becoming more and more mature, showing the richness of art. Not only the range of subjects were broadened, but also the emotional contents were riched. He also carried out the exploration of poetic art. He made the classical feeling with modern consciousness, ethnic flavorwith exotic all presenting at the same time. His poetry creation formed a diversified creative landscape. The third chapter discusses the XinDi's overseas returnees. Under the wheting of social reality, he began to rethink his poetry creation and realized this "one must take people's worries melting in the personal experience to make the poetry having sense". XinDi involved himself into the "stream" of times. His poetry changed from whispering personal feelings to singing the wider society and he kept on finding the balance between reality and art. His poetry style went from "exquisite with graceful" to "depressed with solid ".In the fourth chapter, we analysis XinDi's poems which have unified balance, harmony, and harmony " mellow" characteristics. In his poetry creation, he committed to combinate the classical with modern, emotion with reason, and tryed to find the beauty of balance between reality and art. In the road of pursuiting the unification of the poetry balance, harmony, and harmony "mellow ", he made very valuable exploration and practice.
