"Exquisite" And "Concise"

With the globalization worldwide, and the coexistence and the interweaving of multicultural, several issues become more and more crucial along with our culture development and prosperity:what should we do to insure the identity and position of our local culture? How can we ensure the inheriting and renewing of Chinese culture formed in thousands of years? How to integrate it into the whole world independently and uniquely? Materialization and commercialization have occupied every inch of our life while the simplicity, poetry and inner peace just have gone far away. It has been realized by some people that the chase of materials can only result in cold even evil symbols and the spiritual life comes after. Therefore, the concept of "exquisite" and "concise" is proposed here in the hotel design and it indicates that the emphasis on its spirit is appropriate towards traditional culture. Time always laid its temper in everything so the spirit of modern age is also carried in the design.This work introduced the design of hotel with Chinese traditional style and discussed the problems within. In detail, based on the re-understand of traditional culture, traditional design element and design spirit, three crucial design factors were proposed as atmosphere, structure and decoration form combined with the analysis of behavior level "people" and material level "hotel". Firstly, we analyze the relationship between the three design factors and three levels "material, concept and behaviour" and give the two constituting ways while the "exquisite" and "concise" concepts are suggested creatively; Secondly, the design manner is summarized based on five elements including traditional design manner, modern arts elements, modern techniques, insertion of traditional stories and edge-mixed fields; Last, the principle and meaning of this design is presented.There are two design types:one with traditional element and another without. Innovation is the life of design. Combination of tradition and modern is one form of innovation and it meets the needs of aesthetic and spirit sensibility of modern people. One can only get rid of something after he goes deep into it. The "exquisite" and "concise"concepts just derive from here which manifests the culture taste and design state of one designer.
