A Report On The Translation Of Chapter 5 Of China Goes Global:the Partial Power

This report discusses a translation practice of the Chapter 5 of China Goes Global: The Partial Power (2013) by David Shambaugh, who is regarded as an authority on China’s foreign policy, military, security issues and Chinese politics. Providing a thoughtful look at the nature and consequences of China’s rise, the book is becoming influential in the world, which elicits some significance of the author’s translation practice.Based on Peter Newmark’s translation theory of communicative translation, the author analyzes difficult points during the whole translation process.
