Objective:To observe the occurrence and risk factors of epilepsy combined with depression/anxiety state in Qinghai region to understand the effects of various factors on epilepsy combined with depression/anxiety state. The clinical study may have beneficial implications and guidances for the clinical treatment of epilepsy combined with depression/anxiety state. Methods:We collected the patients with epilepsy diagnosed in the neurological department of Qinghai University Affiliated Hospital and the healthy people in the physical examination center according to the entry and exclusion criteria from November 2016 to February 2018 as the research subject. The screening suspected people merged with depression/anxiety state were selected by the 90 symptoms self evaluation scale(90 symptom check list,SCL-90).Then,we would performed the Hamilton depression/anxiety scale score for the initial screening people and the people whose score of the depression HAMD was greater than 20,and the anxiety HAMA score was greater than 14 would be determined as the patients with depression/anxiety state. In the healthy control group, the merger of depression/anxiety state was defined as the health group with depression/anxiety state, and the remaining healthy group were defined as the healthy group without depression/anxiety state. All patients diagnosed with epilepsy combined with depression/anxiety were defined as epilepsy merge depression/anxiety state group, and the rest were defined as epilepsy without depression/anxiety state group. We counted up the number of people in the healthy group and the epilepsy group which merged depression/anxiety status, statistical analysis whether there were differences between the health group and epilepsy group in the prevalence of depression/anxiety state.Counted up the risk factors of the patient's age, gender, marriage, education, work, and negative life events, age of epilepsy, seizure frequency,EEG and neuroimaging, seizure types and status epilepticus respectively, and then carried on the research.Statistical work was performed by using SPSS21.0 statistical software. Results:Single factor analysis of the two groups show that age(t = 8.37),onset age, course of epilepsy, seizure frequency of three months before enrolled, antiepileptic drug usage have significant difference(P < 0.01).Gender,EEG,intractable epilepsy, status epilepticus, epilepsy etiology have significant difference(P < 0.05).To select the significant risk factors to perform multivariate analysis and the results showed that seizure frequency of three months before enrolled, course of epilepsy, antiepileptic drug usage have significant difference(P < 0.05).Statistical analysis also showed there are significant difference between the healthy control group and epilepsy group(P < 0.01).Conclusion:The prevalence of depression/anxiety state among epileptics in Qinghai region was significantly higher than that of the healthy people. The three factors of seizure frequency of three months before enrolled, course of epilepsy, antiepileptic drug usage were the important predictors of depression/anxiety state in patients with epilepsy in Qinghai area.
