Objective Through retrospectively analyzed the clinical data of ultrasound-guided microwave ablation for benign thyroid nodules and explored the efficacy and risks of microwave ablation for benign thyroid nodules. Methods 32 patients with benign thyroid nodules who were treated at the Department of Oncology at the First People's Hospital of Yinchuan,Ningxia, from January 2016 to December 2016 were selected as the study subjects. All patients before ablation hollow 18G needle biopsy, pathological diagnosis of all benign lesions. All the nodules underwent ultrasound-guided microwave ablation and were followed up for 1,3,6 and 12 months after treatment. The changes of nodules during the follow-up period were observed, and the blood flow signals of the nodules and their surrounding areas after ablation were observed by ultrasound.,and volume of the ablation zone to calculate the corresponding volume reduction rate of the nodules(VRR),incidence of complications.Observe the effect and risk of microwave ablation for benign thyroid nodules. Results There were 43 benign nodules in 32 patients with microwave ablation, and no serious complications occurred during operation. After one year of follow-up,the nodule volume of all patients became smaller than before surgery. The maximum mean diameter of nodules in the 12 months after operation was(1.47±0.61)cm,which was significantly smaller than the preoperative(2.95±0.54)cm.and the volume(1.12±0.67)cm~3 was smaller than that before the operation(5.32±2.08)cm~3.There was statistical difference between the two indexes(P<0.01).After treatment of 1,3,6,12 months observation nodules of shrinkage rate were 11.85%,29.07%,60.23%,29.07%,All patients did not experience severe damage to the blood vessels, trachea, esophagus,or nerve during treatment. Conclusion Microwave ablation of thyroid benign nodules is effective and has few complications. It is one of the effective minimally invasive treatments.
