Comparison Of The Incidence And Mortality Of Hepatobillang Carcinoma Between Qidong,Jiangsu Province And Yangpu District Of Shanghai

Objective:To analyze incidence data of liver and gall cancer during 1993 to 2012 in Qidong City,Jiangsu,hence to elucidate incidence trend of liver and gall cancer.To analyze death data of liver cancer between 1993 to 2011 in Qidong,then to demonstrate change pattern of mortality rate of liver cancer and compared with Yangpu,Shanghai.Methods:Gall cancer data between 1993 and 2012 from Qidong Cancer Registry were systemically arranged and cleaned.APC models were introduced to analyze time trend of crude incidence and age-adjusted incidence of gall cancer.Age-standardized rate were calculated by standard age composition of population from national census data of 2000.Liver cancer incidence trend were also observed.Liver cancer death data during 1993 to2011 from Qidong Cancer Registry and Shanghai Cancer Registry were acquired,respectively.Number of liver cancer cases and gender difference were analyzed,and time trend of liver cancer morality and gender difference were also observed.In addition,comparison was carried out between Qidong City and Yangpu district.Results:A total of 493 gall cancer cases were demonstrated between 1993 and 2012,accounting for 0.81 percentage of all incident cancer cases.Crude incidence of gall cancer was2.41/10~5,and age standardized rate was 1.42/10~5.Both crude rate and standardized rate were also statistically significant increasing(APC=12.83,APC=12.04).In addition,female crude rate were faster than male(APC=14.51,APC=10.60).Those who were equal to or more than 65 were the high risk population,accounting for 63.49 percentages.Liver cancer incidence showed downtrend,particularly in male than in female.During1993 to 2011,27169 and 4598 liver cancer death cases were reported by Qidong Cancer Registry and Yangpu,respectively.Male liver cancer death cases were all exceeding five thousands,while female cancer death cases were less than 250 except 2008(259 cases),in Qidong.Liver cancer death cases showed down trend in male,but upward trend in female in Qidong.Age standardized mortality all showed down trend both in male and female in Qidong.Meanwhile,total annual liver cancer death cases were more than 200.Age standardized rate were higher in population of Qidong than in population of Yangpu,both in male and in female.Conclusion:Gall cancer incidence in Qidong increased by years,and faster in female than in male;whereas liver cancer showed down trend,which were much more apparent in male population.Liver cancer mortality of Qidong was higher than that of Yangpu,while mortality both in male and female showed down trend.
