Objective:This study intends to investigate the public awareness of food safety risks and risk communication in a city in Shanxi Province.And know the public's attention and understanding about food safety issues such as food additives,food safety education and genetically modified foods.Analyze the access of public to get food safety information and explore the various factors that affect public awareness.Put forward recommendations and countermeasures to raise public awareness of food safety risks and promote public food safety risk communication and food safety education.Methods:(1)literature research:After the initial determination of the subject,Search and read books,literature,treats and policies about food additives,food safety education,genetically modified food,food safety risk awareness,food safety risk communication and other issues.Analysis and collation the information of domestic and international research,in order to accumulation the basic knowledge for the subject.(2)Questionnaire survey: This study mainly uses the questionnaire survey to know the information about the respondents.The sampling plan was conducted by random sampling method.From January 22,2016 to February 11,600 residents of Shanxi Province were investigated by self-administered questionnaire.The questionnaire includes parts: the basic information of the respondents(gender,age,marital status,education level,income situation,etc.);cognitive situation,behavior,and risk communication of public on food safety related issues.Organize the questionnaire timely,and eliminate questionnaire that missing too much information and did not fill in as required.(3)statistical methods: Using EpiData software for questionnaire data entry,and export EXCEL format for data cleaning.Statistical software SPSS24.0 is used to describe and analyze the data,and inspection level ?=0.05.Results:The public have a higher degree of concern about food additives,food safety education,genetically modified foods,etc.,but less cognitive.The public's most trusted channel to access food safety information is official news.Different marital status,age,education and income situation have affects on cognition,behavior and risk communication of the public on the food safety topics.Different groups of people have different cognitions and behaviors: the degree of awareness of food additives,the behavior of viewing food additives and genetically modified information when purchasing food,the number of times of receiving food safety education,and the most trusted channel for obtaining food safety information.Conclusion:In order to improve the public's awareness of food safety risk and promote the exchange of food safety risks,the government,the public,enterprises,the media and other aspects need work together.From the government,we can strengthen the construction of the risk exchange system,improve the cooperation of all parties,and strengthen the professional development of risk communication.From the media,we can use the new media transmission,and correctly guide the public awareness.From the social and public aspects,we can strengthen the relevant personnel training,strengthen discipline construction,strengthen food safety publicity and education.
