Objective:To investigate the relationship between Helicobacter pylori(Hp)infection and type 2 diabetes mellitus(T2DM).Methods: A total of 137 patients with T2 DM who underwent 13 C breath test in our hospital from October 2016 to September 2017 were selected.According to whether they were infected with Hp,they were divided into 59 cases of Hp-negative group(group A)in T2 DM patients.Hp-positive in T2 DM patients.Group of 78 patients(Group B).The HbAlc,fasting plasma glucose(FPG)and fasting insulin(FINS)were compared between group A and group B.In addition,FPG and FINS were compared before and after treatment in group A,and insulin resistance was assessed quantitatively by the index of insulin resistance(HOMA-IR),and changes before and after treatment were compared. Finally,a regression analysis of the above indicators and Hp infection was performed to clarify the relationship between Hp infection and type 2 diabetes. At the same time,we selected 70 non-diabetic Hp-positive patients who underwent 13 C breath test in our hospital at the same time.We used a quadruple regimen to eradicate Hp therapy and calculated the eradication rate, and compared the difference with B group. Results: Compared with group A,glycosylated hemoglobin, fasting plasma glucose, fasting insulin and body mass index in group B were higher than those in group A,and high-density lipoprotein and uric acid were lower in group A than in group A(P<0.05).The fasting blood glucose, fasting insulin and insulin resistance index after treatment in group B patients were significantly lower than before treatment, and the differences were statistically significant(P<0.05).The eradication rate of H.pylori in patients with positive H.pylori infection was lower than that in non-diabetic patients(69.23% VS.82.85%),and the difference was statistically significant(P < 0.05).Multi-element Logistic regression analysis showed that fasting insulin and HbA1 c were the influencing factors with Helicobacter pylori infection in patients with type 2 diabetes(OR values were 13.024,22.816,respectively).The difference was statistically significant.(P<0.05).Conclusion: Hp infection is associated with type 2 diabetes and its eradication rate is lower than that of non-diabetic patients. It is necessary to carry out Helicobacter pylori examination and active treatment in type 2 diabetic patients.
