Objective:To investigate the prognostic significance of serum high sensitivity-C reactive protein(hs-CRP)level in patients with peripheral T-cell lymphoma(PTCL).Methods:Two hundred and thirty-four cases of newly diagnosed PTCL patients with a median age of 48 years old were analyzed retrospectively.Determine the level of serum Hs-CRP and other factors, including tumor stage, international prognostic index(IPI).After a median follow-up of 23 months, the relationship between hs-CRP and overall survival(OS)was observed.Results:1.The serum Hs-CRP level is positively correlated with IPI score(r=0.278,P<0.001),tumor stage(r=0.183,P=0.005),B symptoms(r=0.217,P=0.001),but negatively correlated with plasma albumin levels(r=-0.343,P<0.001),hemoglobin concentration(r=-0.239,P<0.001),platelet count(r=-0.131,P=0.045),and uncorrelated with age(P>0.05),sex(P>0.05),lactic dehydrogenase(LDH)(P>0.05),fitness(ECOG)score(P>0.05),leukocyte count(P>0.05);2.The patients with serum Hs-CRP levels ?8mg/L has better OS than patients with serum Hs-CRP>8mg/L;3.Univariate and multivariate Cox regression models showed that platelet count,Hs-CRP,albumin levels,IPI score were independent adverse prognostic factor. Conclusion:The baseline Hs-CRP level in patients with PTCL can be a major indicator of prognosis in PTCL patients.
