Objective : To investigate the therapeutic effect and the possible mechanism of Chinese traditional medicine for expelling wind and activating blood circulation on patients with craniocerebral injury,we detected the content of Interleukin-6(IL-6),Interleukin-8(IL-8)and tumor necrosis factor-α(TNF-α)in the serum of patients who were treated with the Chinese traditional zhuifengzhuyuxingnao decoction. Methods: Ninety patients of craniocerebral injury were selected as experimental groups who were treated in Department of Neurosurgery,Affiliated to Southwest Medical University from January 2016 to January 2018.They were randomly divided into western medicine group, activating blood and removing stasis group and expelling wind and activating blood group, and thirty patients in each group.Thirty outpatient or hospitalized medical examiners in the same period with the experimental group were selected as control group, and the general data of the four groups were not significant(P > 0.05).The western medicine group was treated with the treatment of oxygen inhalation, dehydration and reducing craniofacial pressure and maintaining the stability of the internal environment; The activating blood and removing stasis group based on the routine treatment of Western medicine,to be combined with xuesaitong injection; The expelling wind and activating blood group was treated with zhuifengzhuyuxingnao decoction on the basis of routine treatment. The content of IL-6,IL-8 and TNF-α in the patient’s serum every group on day 1,3,5 and 7 after injury were detected by Enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay(ELISA),and were analyzed statistically. Results: 1.The content of IL-6,IL-8 and TNF-α in the serum on day 1,3,5 and 7d after injury were significantly increased in the three experimental groups compared with the control group(P < 0.05),the content of IL-6,IL-8 and TNF-α in the serum of each group increased rapidly on the first day after injury, and gradually decreased after the peak of the third day.2.There was no significant difference in the content of IL-6 in the three experimental groups at the same time.3.The content of IL-8 in the serum at 1 d and 3 d after injury was significantly decreased in the expelling wind and activating blood group compared with the western medicine group(P < 0.05),The reduced level of IL-8 in the expelling wind and activating blood group was better than that in the group of activating blood and removing stasis on the 1st and 3rd day after injury in the serum.4.The content of the TNF-α in the serum at 5 d and 7 d after injury was significantly decreased in the expelling wind and activating blood group and activating blood and removing stasis group compared with the western medicine group respectively. The reduced level of TNF-α in the expelling wind and activating blood group was no significantly different from that in the group of activating blood and removing stasis on 5 d and 7 d after injury in the serum. Conclusion: 1.The content of IL-6,IL-8 and TNF-α in the serum of patients with craniocerebral injury was significantly increased after injury, the level show hypersecretion.2.The content of IL-8 and TNF-α in the serum used the expelling wind and activating blood circulation and activating blood and removing stasis method significantly decreased which may reduce the secondary brain damage by interfering with inflammatory reaction caused by IL-8 and TNF-α,which was is good for improving the prognosis of the patient with craniocerebral injury.3.The reduced level of IL-8 used zhuifengzhuyuxingnao decoction in brain injury patients based on the expelling wind and activating blood method is better than the simple use of Xuesaitong injection with activating blood and removing stasis method.
