Objectives: The authors investigated safety and efficacy of the MitraClipSystem(MC-S)using a systematic analysis. Background: The safety and efficacy of the MC-S continues to be debated, and randomized trials are still lacking.Method: Using a common medical and scientific database for systematic literature searches, the following results were analyzed: 30-day and 12-month adverse events, mortality, reoperation rates, mitral regurgitation> 2+,New York Heart Function,6 Minute walking distance and echocardiography. Results: A total of 1555 patients who were systematically treated with MitraClip were analyzed. The age-weighted average was 68.9±11;MR>2+ patients were 10%and 13.5% at 30 days and 1 year after surgery, which was 90% and 86.5% lower than before surgery;NYHA>II grade patients were better at 30 days and 1 year. The former was reduced by 74.5% and 82.7%;the 1-year echocardiographic results showed that the end-diastolic volume and inner diameter were significantly reduced compared with before, being 23.64 ml and 0.36 cm.The end-systolic diameter and volume were slightly improved, and the reduction was 10.23 ml and 0.28 cm.There was no significant change in the ejection fraction;the walking distance at 6 minutes in one year was 82 meters longer than before;the 30-day and 1-year mortality rates were 3.4% and 19.4%,and the reoperation rate was 3.2% and 11.4%.Conclusion: For patients with limited surgical options,MitraClip system therapy is safe and effective. This method can significantly reduce valve anti-flow,improve heart function, reverse ventricular remodeling, high success rate of surgery, and low mortality and adverse events.Prospective randomized controlled trials are still needed to help identify potential adverse events, equipment durability, and long-term follow-up.
