ObjectiveComparison of methamphetamine dependence teenagers and healthy teenagers on executive function and biogenic amine neurotransmitters was uesd to analyse the effects of methamphetamine on the performance and changes in the biogenic amine neurotransmitters in adolescents. The exploration of related factors and biological mechanisms that lead to the damage of executive function and the change of biogenic amine neurotransmitter could provide some theoretical and empirical evidence for the current drug withdrawal.Materials and Methods50 female methamphetamine dependence teenagers and 50 male methamphetamine dependence teenagers were selected as the experimental group in two different drug rehabilitation centers from January,2017 to May,2017.The normal?50 males and50 females?were selected as the control group from school. The sample of experimental group and control group are matched in age and gender. The basic information of these subjects was collected by self-designed information questionnaires. The execution functions were collected by complete sets of cognitive execution function tests.Moreover,HPLC-FLD method was used to measure the levels of dopamine, serotonin, epinephrine and norepinephrine in blood of these subjects.SPSS 21.0 was used for the statistical analysis of all experimental results. The main test methods included T test and correlation analysis.ResultsThere are statistical differences between methamphetamine dependence adolescents and normal adolescents in execution function including N-back test,Stroop test,WCST,Digital conversion task and Hanoi Tower test(Pall<0.01?Pall<0.05).The correlation between executive function and smoking behavior showed that there was a highly significant negative correlation between drug use time and the number of correct responses in the digital conversion task test(Pall<0.01).Besides,there was a significant positive correlation between detoxification time and the number of correct responses in the digital conversion task test?P<0.05?.The comparison of executive function between different gender in experimental group and control group showed that the normal male's current correct response results test is significantly lower than normal female in N-back test?P<0.05?while the rest results were not statistically significant. We found that there were statistical differences in execution function test except the mobile time in Hanoi Tower test and the correct reaction time in digital conversion task test in experimental groups and control groups(Pall<0.01).Moreover,the executive function of women in the experimental group was more seriously damaged, especially the correct response in digital conversion task test(Pall<0.01).In this study,we found that the contents of dopamine, serotonin, epinephrine and norepinephrine in the blood of the experimental group were all higher than those in control group, and all the data showed significant statistical differences(Pall<0.01).The correlation between content of biogenic amine neurotransmitter and smoking behavior showed that there was a significant negative correlation between drug use time and serotonin content?P<0.05?.The comparison of biogenic amine neurotransmitter content on different gender among experimental group and control group showed that the normal female's epinephrine content is significantly higher than male's?P<0.05?while the rest of the results were not statistically significant. We found that all indicators are increased significantly in the experimental group compared with control group.Furthermore, there were statistical differences in biogenic amine neurotransmitter content among all gender in experimental and control group.(Pall<0.01).The increase of serotonin and epinephrine in experimental group was significantly higher than those in the experimental group?P<0.05?.The correlation between executive function and biological amine neurotransmitters in experimental group showed that there was a significant positive correlation between content of serotonin, epinephrine and the correct number of responses in the digital shift task test?P<0.05?.ConclusionThe execution function of methamphetamine dependent adolescents is damaged in varying degrees. The longer the drug time is,the more serious the damage is,and the longer the detoxification time is,the better the function recovery is.Female's executive function is damaged more serious when compared with male's in drug addiction. The content of biogenic amine neurotransmitters in blood can be greatly enhanced after taking methamphetamine, and the change of the content is closely related to the time of smoking. The content of serotonin in males are easily affected after taking methamphetamine when compared with females. The executive function of methamphetamine dependent adolescents is closely related to the content of neurotransmitter in the blood.
