Objective:To explore the effect of acupressure massage on range of motion of suffering limb, grip strength, and quality of life in breast cancer patients treated with modified radical mastectomy, with a view to providing a clinical rehabilitation method that can promote the recovery of suffering limbs.Method:68 patients who were diagnosed as breast cancer and be carried modified radical mastectomy in a top-level hospital were selected as the study subjects. The treatment time was from October 2016 to October 2017.Randomized controlled trials were used to designate them as observations in accordance with the random number table,68 cases were divided into observation group(n=34)and control group(n=34).65 patients completed the rehabilitation intervention at the end of the study after 21 days intervention. The observation group consisted of 32 patients and the control group consisted of 33 patients. One patient of the observation group was transferred to other hospital for chemotherapy, another patient dropped out because of being diagnosed as pregnancy associated breast cancer, and one patient of the control group refused to accept the rehabilitation intervention. The control group was treated with usual rehabilitation nursing and rehabilitation gymnastics. The observation group was given acupressure massage on the basis of the control group. The range of motion of suffering limb, grip strength, and quality of life of breast cancer patients were evaluated on between 1 day pre-operation and 21st days postoperatively. The statistical analysis of the data obtained were performed using SPSS21.0.Result:1.There was no statistical difference between the observation group and the control group in age, education level, suffering limb, marital status, surgical method, clinical pathological stage and health-payment system.(P>0.05).2.The range of motion of suffering limb in the observation group and the control group were compared on the outreach, forward bending, extension and elbow flexion. The outreach of the observation group was up to 89.03 ± 18.19°,the outreach of the control group was up to 79.68 ± 17.54,P=0.039;the forward bending of observation group was up to 98.12±22.93°,and the forward bending of the control group was up 85.66±20.22°,p=0.024;the extension of observation group reached 55.33 ±13.68°,and the extension of the control group's reached 48.08±11.85°,P=0.026.The observation group was superior to the control group in range of shoulder motion.(P<0.05).Compared with elbow flexion of the observation group and the control group after the intervention,The observation group was up to 31.71±3.56°,and the control group was up to 32.55±4.25°,P=0.498>0.05.There was no statistical difference in elbow flexion.3.Compared with the grip strength of the observation group and the control group after the intervention, the recovery of limb grip strength in the observation group was significantly better than that in the control group(P<0.01),the grip strength of the observation group was 20.03 ± 4.73,and the grip strength of the control group was 17.9 ± 3.29,P=0.00,the difference was statistically significant significance.4.Compared with the quality of life of the observation group and the control group after the intervention,(P<0.05).The total score of the observation group was 100 ± 16.41 points, and the total score of the control group was 0.21 ± 9.28 points,P=0.00 and the difference was statistically significant.social family status(P=0.038),affective status(P=0.045),functional status(P=0.027),and additional attention(P=0.014)were significantly higher in the observation group than in the control group. In the dimensionality of physiological conditions,P=0.135,P>0.05,the difference was not statistically significant. Conclusion:The results of our study suggest that acupressure massage can improve the range of motion of suffering limb, promote recovery of grip strength, improve quality of life for patients with modified radical mastectomy for breast cancer, and have a positive effect on promoting the recovery of limb function, which is worthy of clinical promotion.
