Background and objectives:Fatty liver is a disease that causes the accumulation of fat in liver cells due to various causes. With the improvement of people's economic level and lifestyle changes, the prevalence of fatty liver has gradually increased, and fatty liver has become an important public health problem. The prevalence of fatty liver disease, especially for alcoholic fatty liver, has been rising in recent years. This problem not only closely related with population aging, but also with the prevalence of a metabolic diseases and some risk factors which related to fatty liver disease.College teachers are a special kind of people. They accepted higher education and are engaged in heavy mental work, and are more likely to suffer from multiple chronic diseases due to their sedentary work.Soochow University is a “211” university and located in suzhou. With the rapid development in recent years, teachers worked in Soochow University also bear greater pressure from work, and the prevalence of various chronic diseases are high. This study aims to describe the prevalence of fatty liver among teachers worked in Soochow University through a physical examination of 6179 teachers, and analyze the risk factors of fatty liver using logistic regression model. This study will help to understand the disease of fatty liver in the teachers of Soochow University, and provides effective and effective methods for preventing fatty liver. This study also helps to rationalize the school's health strategy for faculty and staff, with a view to ensuring the sustainable development of teaching and research in Soochow University.Subjects and methods:In this study,Soochow University was selected as the research site and 6179 faculty members of Soochow University participate in this study in 2014.Among these participants,364 were excluded for lack of important data.In the end,5815 subjects were included in this study. The study contents included: fatty liver detection, bloodpressure, glucose, triglycerides, total cholesterol,high-density lipoprotein,low-density lipoprotein, and glutamate transaminase, etc. This study uses a variety of statistical methods for statistical analysis.Firstly,we conducted a study on the prevalence of fatty liver disease. We divide participants into several groups according to age, sex, blood pressure, glucose, lipids, uric acid, cereal third transaminase, aspertate aminotransferase, alkaline phosphatase, colleges, then calculate the prevalence of each group, and carries on the statistical tests.Secondly,we studied the risk factors of fatty liver. We divided the subjects into the group of patients with fatty liver and the group without the fatty liver, and then calculate the difference between the two groups in baseline data.At last we used logistic regression modle to analyze the risk factors of fatty liver.A single-factor analysis was used to select the risk factors that might play a role in causing fatty liver disease.Multi-factor logistic regression analysis was used to analyze the independent effects of various factors.Results:1.This study was conducted by 6179 faculty members of Soochow University in2014.Among all the participants,364 were excluded for lack of important data.In the end,5,815 subjects were included in this study.1674 patients with fatty liver disease(28.79%)were found among 3213(55.3%)men and 2602(44.7%)women.2.The prevalence of fatty liver in different age, gender, school, and different blood pressure, glucose, lipids, uric acid, alanine aminotransferase, aspertate aminotransferase, alkaline phosphatase levels are different(P < 0.05).The prevalence of fatty liver in women and teachers worked in the medical college is lower, and the prevalence in teacher sufered with hypertension, diabetes, hyperlipidemia, higher uric acid, higher cereal third transaminase, higher aspertate aminotransferase and higher alkaline phosphatase is higher.3.Multiariable logistic regression showed that, compared with aged from 20 to 29,the OR(95%CI)of 30-39,40-49,50-59,60-69,70-79 and older than 80 were 1.89(1.203.02),1.77(1.10 2.83),2.04(1.27 3.26),2.03(1.26 3.27),1.21(0.75 1.97),0.49(0.290.85).Compared with men,the multivariate-adjusted OR(95% CI)of women was 0.42(0.36-0.49).Compared with normal blood pressure, the multivariate-adjusted OR(95%CI)of hypertension was 3.32(2.64-4.18).Compared with normal blood lipids, the multivariate-adjusted OR(95%CI)of higher lipids was 2.27(1.98-2.59).Compared with normal glucose, the multivariate-adjusted OR(95%CI)of diabetes was 3.04(2.45-3.78).Compared with normal uric acid, the multivariate-adjusted OR(95% CI)of the higher uric acid was 3.18(2.42-4.19).Compared with the normal transaminase of glutamate transaminase, the multivariate-adjusted OR(95% CI)of the higher glutamate transaminase was 4.10(3.15-5.35).Compared with the normal transaminase of glutamate transaminase, the multivariate-adjusted OR(95%CI)of the higher glutamate transaminase was 0.91(0.61-1.35).Compared with the normal alkaline phosphatase, the multivariate-adjusted OR(95% CI)of the higher alkaline phosphatase was 0.43(0.14-1.31).Conclusions:1.The prevalence of fatty liver in teachers worked in Soochow University has a high prevalence rate of 28.79%.2.Male sex is an important and unchangeable risk factor for fatty liver.3.When age<70,age is an important risk factor for fatty liver disease.4.Blood pressure, lipids, glucose, uric acid and glutamate transaminase are important variable risk factors of fatty liver, and the increase of its level can increase the risk of fatty liver.
