Objective5E teaching model combined with Mini Clinical Evaluation Exercise teaching method is designed and applied in the course of experimental teaching of Fundamental Nursing,This research aims at to explore the feasibility that 5E teaching model combined with Mini Clinical Evaluation Exercise teaching methods is applied in the course of experimental teaching of Fundamental Nursing,to provide the basis for teaching reform.Methods1.A total of twelve nursing students of a university from the years of 2012 were selected to carry out semi-structured interviews with the purpose of sampling methods.It is to understand the feelings and experiences of nursing students in learning the course of experimental teaching of Fundamental Nursing,to analyze the influential factors that affect the learning effect of nursing students,and to provide concrete suggestions for further intervention research.2.A total of four classes(52 persons)were selected as the interventiongroup and four classes(51 persons)were selected as the control group by using the group sampling method.In the course of experimental teaching of Fundamental Nursing,the intervention group adopts 5E Learning Cycle Model combined with Mini Clinical Evaluation Exercise teaching model.The control group adopts the traditional teaching mode.Before and after the intervention,the two groups of nursing students were investigated by the Scale of Empathy,the Classroom Atmosphere Assessment Scale and the Scale of Self-learning Ability.The differences of the two groups of nursing students' empathy ability,classroom atmosphere and nursing students' self-learning ability were compared.Results1.The twelve nursing students interview data analysis,summed up the four themes: effective evaluation methods,a reasonable course schedule,a good classroom atmosphere,the attitude towards learning.2.There was no statistically significant difference between the two group of nursing students in general empathy ability and Self-directed learning ability and Classroom Atmosphere Assessment Scale score before the teaching intervention(P >0.05).3.There was statistically significant difference between the two group of nursing students in general empathy ability Self-directed learning ability Classroom Atmosphere Assessment Scale score after the teaching intervention(P<0.05).3.1.After the teaching intervention,generally scores of empathy ability and other primary structure scores of the intervention group students are higher than that of the control group,and the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05).3.2.After the teaching intervention,generally scores of Classroom Atmosphere Assessment Scale and other primary structure scores of the intervention group students are higher than that of the control group,and the difference was significant(P <0.05).3.3.After the teaching intervention,generally scores of Self-directed learning ability and learning motivation,planning and implementation,interpersonal communication scores are higher than that of the control group,and the difference was significant(P<0.05).4.The operational capacity scores of the experimental group students were higher than that of the control group students,and there were statistically significantly different(P<0.05).5.The questionnaire was used to investigate the nursing students in the intervention group.More than 90% of the nursing students have a positive attitude on that the 5E teaching model combined with the mini clinical exercise is applied for the course of experimental teaching of Fundamental Nursing.Conclusion1.It helps to promote general empathy ability,Self-directed learningability for nursing undergraduates and makes the classroom atmosphere more active that 5E Learning Cycle Model combined with Mini Clinical Evaluation Exercise is used in the course of experimental teaching of Fundamental Nursing.2.It helps to promote the operational capacity scores that 5E Learning Cycle Model combined with Mini Clinical Evaluation Exercise is used in the course of experimental teaching of Fundamental Nursing.3.Nursing students of intervention group are satisfied with that 5E Learning Cycle Model combined with Mini Clinical Evaluation Exercise is used in the course of experimental teaching of Fundamental Nursing.
