Objective:The aim of this study was to investigate the approach and clinical results of arthroscopic ankle arthrodesis.Methods:1.This study selected 19 patients from March 2011 to 2015 07 who underwent arthroscopic assisted ankle arthrodesis in our department. Each patient was followed up for 24-36 months postoperatively.Mean age at surgery was 65.3 years, with a range of 48 to 75 years.12 cases were on the left side,7 cases were on the right side. The indication for operation was severe osteoarthritis in 4,post-traumatic osteoarthritis in 15.2.All the patients underwent the arthroscopic ankle arthrodesis,The VAS pain score before and 1 months,3 months,6 months and 12 months after operation was evaluated by observing the operation time, blood loss and postoperative complications to evaluate its clinical efficacy.According to Winson's criteria, ankle fusion success criteria:1.the stability of ankle joint,2.movement and loading during standing ankle without obvious pain,3.X-ray examination to see the confluence of continuous bony callus through the gap,and no change in fixed and ankle position was.The clinical evaluation was divided into 4 grades:excellent,no pain,no claudication and limited motion,X-ray confirmed arthrodesis, good, mild pain, occasional claudication and limited motion,X-ray confirmed arthrodesis. They were:moderate pain, presence of claudication and limited motion,X-ray examination of the fusion of the joints;poor:pain evident,X-ray examination confirmed the fusion of the joints.Visual analogue scale(VAS)was recorded preoperatively and postoperatively in 1 months,3 months,6 months and 12 months after operation, and statistical analysis was performed.Results:1.All patients were followed up for 24-36 months(mean 30 months). All incisions healed at first stage, and no complications such as poor wound healing and infection occurred.2.Bone fusion was achieved in all the patients in this study. No fusion failure occurred. The bony fusion time was 10-15 weeks(mean 12 + 1 weeks).3.Postoperative clinical evaluation showed that 10 cases were excellent,7 cases were good,2 cases were fair, and 0 cases were poor.4.The preoperative and postoperative VAS pain score:preoperative score(7.8 +1.3),postoperative 1 month score(6.1 + 0.9),postoperative 3 months score(2.9 +1.1),postoperative 6 months(2.3 + 0.7),postoperative 12 months score(2.1 + 0.9)points,the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05).Conclusion:In our study, arthroscopic ankle arthrodesis resulted in good functional outcome with minimum and cosmetic incisions and a high fusion fate, worthy of clinical popularization and application.
