PURPOSE:To observe the effect of Zuogui Pills on the clinical effect of percutaneous kyphoplasty after osteoporotic vertebral compression fractures.METHOD:The study subjects were diagnosed as osteoporotic vertebral compression fractures at the Hospital from September 2016 to September 2017 and all the symptoms of TCM were classified as "Kidney Yin Deficiency Syndrome." According to the diagnostic criteria,60 cases were randomly assigned.Two groups:The experimental group was treated with Zuogui Pills + PKP + conventional anti-osteoporosis,a total of 30 cases;the control group was treated with PKP + conventional anti-osteoporosis,a total of 30 cases.Each of group of the fall off in 2 cases,two groups of actual finish 56 cases.The patients were 56-86 years old and had an average age of(68.15±8.46)years.Among them,there were 15 males and 41 females.56 cases were involved in the vertebral body,with T11,T12,L1,L2 vertebral body more common;the kidney yin deficiency cases,VAS,imaging parameters,and BMD as well as the clinical efficacy of the two groups after 24 weeks were recorded.RESULT:1.There were no statistical differences between the two groups in terms of preoperative general conditions(age,gender),VAS,the lossing ratios of vertebral body height,and BMD,and they were all comparable(P>0.05).2.The kidney yin deficiency cases There was no significant difference in the kidney yin deficiency cases between the two groups at 4 weeks after operation(P>0.05);at 12 weeks and 24 weeks after operation,the kidney yin deficiency cases were significantly different between the two groups(P<0.05);This indicated that the experimental group has advantages in relieving the symptoms of kidney yin deficiency.3.VAS There was no significant difference in VAS between the two groups at 4 weeks postoperatively(P>0.05).There were significant differences in VAS between the two groups at 12 and 24 weeks postoperatively(P<0.05).This showed that the pain treatment efficacy of the experimental group is significantly better than that of the control group.4.The lossing ratios of vertebral body height The lossing ratios of vertebral body height were significantly improved compared with that before surgery in both groups(P<0.05).At 4 weeks and 12 weeks after surgery,there was no significant difference in the loss of vertebral height between the two groups.(P>0.05);24 weeks after surgery,there was a significant difference the lossing ratios of vertebral body height between the two groups(P<0.05).This indicated that the experimental group could reduce postoperative the losing of the injured vertebrae height.5.The ratios of the adjacent vertebral body fracture Compared with 4 weeks after surger-y,the fracture ratios of near the vertebral body increase at 12 weeks and 24 weeks after operation,and the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05).This indicates that the adjacent vertebral body fracture is a further development of the osteoporosis.There was no significant difference in the ratios of adjacent vertebral fractures between the two groups(P>0.05).This indicated that oral administration of Zuogui Pills within 24 weeks after surgery did not reduce the incidence of the adjacent vertebral body fracture compared with the control group.6.BMD The difference was not statistically significant in the both groups BMD between the before of surgery and 4 weeks after operation(P>0.05).The BMD at 12 weeks after surgery was statistically significant compared with the BMD before surgery(P>0.05).there was no significant difference between the two groups(P>0.05);there was a difference in BMD between the two groups at 24 weeks postoperatively(P<0.05),and the BMD increased significantly in the experimental group.7.Clinical curative effect There was a statistically significant difference between the two groups in the clinical efficacy at 24 weeks(P<0.05).This showed that the experimental group was significantly superior to the control group in terms of clinical effect.CONCLUSION:Zuogui Pills in combination with PKP in the treatment of OVCF can better improve the patient's incidence of kidney yin deficiency,improve BMD,relieve postoperative residual low back pain,reduce the ratios of the adjacent vertebral body fracture,and improve postoperative patient quality of life.Its efficacy is positive and it can be clinically applied.
