6-month Clinical Observation Of ICL V4c In Treating High Myopia

Purpose:To investigate the clinical changes of central myopia with centre-hole implantable collamer lens(ICL V4c)implantation in the treatment of high myopia.Methods:79 eyes of 40 patients with high myopia who underwent ICL implantation at the Second Affiliated Hospital of Nanchang University were selected.Uncorrected eyes were collected before surgery from January 2017 to July 2017.Changes in uncorrected distance visual acuity(UDVA)?corrected distance visual acuity(CDVA)?refraction at last follow-up,intraocular pressure(IOP),central corneal endothelial cell density(ECD),coefficient of variation(CV),and percentage of hexagonal cells(HEX),anterior chamber depth(ACD),the vault,lens thickness(LT)were observed before surgery and one month,three months,and six months after surgery.Postoperative complications were also observed in the study.Results:1.All patients had UDVA before surgery,88.6%achieved visual acuity of 1.0and above,and 8 eyes(10.12%)had better corrected visual acuity than preoperative corrected visual acuity(greater than or equal to 1 line).2.The failure rate of all grades of contrast sensitivity in patients after surgery was decreased,and the prevalence of failure at contrast ratios of 1:2.7 and 1:2.0 with and without glare was significantly lower than before surgery.The difference was statistically significant(P<0.05);3.Intraocular pressure was normal in all subjects at each follow-up point.The mean preoperative intraocular pressure was(15.74±1.81)mmHg,and the mean intraocular pressure was(15.76±1.64)mmHg and(15.72±1.85)after one month,three months,and six months,respectively.)mmHg,(15.73±1.78)mm Hg compared,the difference was not statistically significant(p>0.05).4.The preoperative and 1m?3m?6m postoperative ECD were(2767.80±206.36)/mm~2(2742.33±204.14)/mm~2(2727.06±200.74)/mm~2,(2715.19±200.80)/mm~2,respectively.ECD loss rates were 0.9%,0.5%,and 0.4%,respectively.The difference of central corneal endothelial cell density during the follow-up period was statistically significant(P<0.05).CV slightly increased after surgery,and HEX%decreased slightly after surgery.Changes in CV and HEX%were not statistically significant(p>0.05).5.The preoperative and postoperative ACD were(3.21±0.19)mm,(2.54±0.23)mm,(2.53±0.24)mm,and(2.53±0.19)mm,respectively.Postoperative ACD was lower than before surgery,and the difference was statistically significant(p<0.05).6.The mean vault at 1m,3m,and 6m after operation was 0.45±0.23,0.44±0.25,and 0.48±0.21 mm,respectively,and there was no significant difference in the changes during follow-up(p>0.05).7.Preoperative LT was(4.13±0.29)mm,and1m,3m,and 6m postoperative were(4.17±0.33)mm,(4.24±0.28)mm,and 4.25±0.23)mm,respectively.There was no significant difference in LT before and after surgery(p>0.05).8.One eye had postoperative high intraocular pressure and four eyes had ICL surface pigmentation.No serious complications such as cataract and secondary glaucoma were found in all cases during the observation period.Conclusions:Treatment of high myopia with ICL V4c demonstrated good efficacy,stability,and safety within 6 months after surgery.
