Objective: To investigate the characteristics and its influencing factors of anxiety and depression in patients with atherosclerosis, and to explore the possible factors that might be related to the development of anxiety and depression in atherosclerosis patients, thereby providing theoretical basis for decreasing the incidence of anxiety and depression in arteriosclerosis patients, and improving the treatment outcomes. Methods: 334 patients aged from 18-72 years who were diagnosed with atherosclerosis by imaging in three tertiary comprehensive hospitals in a certain city from January 2014 to December 2015 were included in this study.Self-rating Anxiety Scale(SAS)and Self-rating Depression Scale(SDS)were used, and demographic data such as population sex ratio, occupational characteristics, educational level and other data were collected.“Guidelines on the diagnosis and treatment of cardiovascular disease”and " pathergasiology " were used for the diagnosis of related diseases. The prevalence and influencing factors of anxiety and depression in patients with atherosclerosis by questionnaires.Questionnaire were conducted among 350 patients which resulted in 95.4%(334)valid sample return.SPSS 18.0 were used for statistical analysis, and chi-square test were used for comparison of rate or composition at the significance level of 0.05.Results: 1.The incidence of anxiety and depression in patients with atherosclerosis was 49.7%.The incidence of simple anxiety and depression was 10.8% and 7.8% respectively, and the incidence of combined anxiety and depression was 30.1%.2.The incidence of anxiety and depression in atherosclerosis patients was related to the age, educational level, gender, marital status, economic income and the way of payment for treatment cost. The incidence of anxiety and depression in patient who were male, married,in lower age group or high-income groups, with free medical treatment and medical Insurance was lower. And the lower education level, the higher the incidence of anxiety;3.The incidence of anxiety and depression in atherosclerosis patients complicated with arrhythmia or rheumatic heart disease was significantly higher than that of patients without complications. And the incidence of anxiety in atherosclerosis patients complicated with hypertension was significantly higher than that in patients without hypertension.4.The impact of social support on the disease: the incidences of anxiety and depression in atherosclerosis patients who gained respect and supervision from their family members were significantly lower than those who received discrimination from family members, and the incidence was significantly lower in patients who received explanation of the medical side effects from health care workers.Diagnostic and medication plans disclosure were not correlated with the incidences of anxiety and depression.5.Hardening of the arteries merge biomarkers in patients with anxiety depression patients with anxiety depression levels,c-reactive protein(CRP),total bilirubin, statistically significant difference between the two groups(P < 0.05).6.Multiariable logistic regression analysis results show that the factors related to anxiety is the age, marital status, income, cardiac arrhythmias, hypertension, side effects to explain and total bilirubin, factors related to depression is the age, economic income, arrhythmia, interpretation and total bilirubin side effects. Conclusion: The incidences of anxiety and depression are high in patients with atherosclerosis. The prevalence of anxiety and depression are related to individual factors, social and family factors and medical factors.Patients with atherosclerosis in patients with combined with a greater incidence of anxiety, depression, anxiety, depression by individual age, culture level, gender, marital status, income, medical treatment charge fee payment, type of family members and society will support for the body disease, and is associated with biomarkers level,...
