| Objective:To investigate the histocompatibility and effect of MEDPOR implant,silicone sponge and allogeneic sclera as macular scleral buckling,and the influence of ocular function to select the better scleral buckling.Method:24 adult New Zealand white rabbits were divided into four groups(A、B、C、D)at random.The left eye of each group implanted respectively silicone sponge,silicone sponge + allogeneic sclera,MEDPOR and MEDPOR + allogeneic sclera,none for the right eye as control.The effect of the ocular function,the buckle heights,and samples in general morphology and light microscope were evaluated in pre-operation and 1,2,and 4 months after operation.’Results:MEDPOR was adhered to surrounding tissue tightly,with fiber tissue growing in,and good vascularization.Silicone sponge adhered to surrounding tissue loosely,with no fiber tissue ingrowth.The buckle heights by medpor lasted for the whole experiment.Allogeneic sclera implant showed the less inflammation,but with degradation partly.Conclusions:MEDPOR plus allogeneic sclera has good histocompatibility,rigidity and less inflammatory reaction,which is suitable for macular scleral buckling implant. |
