Objective: To investigate the prevalence of chronic obstructive pulmonary diseases(COPD)and related risk factors among urban residents aged 40 years or older in parts of communities of Korla city,in order to provide reference for the prevention and treatment of COPD.Methods: A multistage stratified cluster random sampling method was used to extract 600 residents aged over 40 years from six communities of three Streets in Korla City. The subjects were interviewed with questionnaires and tested with pulmonary function test,a quality of life assessment test and chest X-ray examination are also performed.Epi Data 3.1 was used to input data,SPSS22.0 was used to analyze the data, and the test level was 0.05.Results: There were 600 people involved in the survey, and 583 completed the examination of pulmonary function, including 257 males and 226 females. The average age was 54.56±9.15 years.58 respondents met the diagnostic criteria. The prevalence rate of COPD was 9.95%.Single factor analysis showed gender, age, occupation, history of smoking, occupational exposure history, personal disease history and family history of diseases had an impact on the prevalence of COPD.The factors such as region, nationality, economic condition and BMI had no obvious influence on the prevalence of COPD.Multivariate analysis showed that men, higher age groups, higher smoking frequency, history of individual diseases and family history of diseases were risk factors for COPD.Among the common respiratory diseases, the awareness rate of COPD was only 11.84%,which was the lowest.34.78% of the people who knew COPD received disease knowledge through the hospital or doctor. The highest awareness of risk factosr were the second-hand smoke and the interior decoration of the chemical materials.Only 5.32% of people know lung function tests,12.52% of whom received pulmonary function tests, and the detection rate of COPD was 0%.The COPD Assessment Test(CAT)was attended by 58 patients with a minimum score of 0,a maximum of 18 points,an average of 4.59±3.87.53 individuals had a modest impact on quality of life(?10 points),and 5 had medium impact on quality of life(11 to 20 points). Conclusion: The prevalence rate of COPD in urban residents of Korla City was higher than the national level.Male are at higher risk of disease than female, and the greater the age,the greater the risk of illness, smokers were at higher risk than nonsmokers. The awareness rate of COPD and pulmonary function test is low,and the detection rate of COPD is also low.The lung-function tests should be carried out in high-risk populations such as the elderly, smokers, and history of respiratory diseases and family history,so as to improve the diagnostic rate and detection rate of COPD,increasing the level of disease surveillance and health education and enhancing people's awareness and capabilities for self-health protection at the same time.
