Clinical Analysis Of 3373 Cases Of Root Canal Therapy

Objective(1)To understand the filling quality of root canal therapy(RCT)in 2013 in the Dept of Stomatology of a Tier III Dental Hospital in Hefei.(2)Evaluate the efficacy of RCT two years later.(3)Explore the impact of factors affecting the efficacy of RCT.Methods In this study,3373 patients(3766 teeth)receiving RCT from the Department of Oral Dental Endodontics or Periapical Diseases in the hospital from August 2013 to November 2013 were selected as study subjects,and all the subjects Sharp X-ray film by two veterinary radiologist independent reading,according to the interpretation of the results of analysis of root canal filling quality.From August 2015 to November 2016,telephone interview was conducted using a convenient sampling method for subjects who had been on the RCT for 2 years.852 patients in 764 patients underwent a follow-up visit.Through the review for the respondents,apex radiography to obtain research data,using the same reading method interpretation,according to "root canal therapy specifications and efficacy evaluation criteria" to evaluate the effect of RCT treatment.Results The filling rate of the teeth was 78.8%,the underfilling rate was 9.9%,the overfill rate was 8.9%,the leakage rate was 2.5%,the filling rate of the molar was lower than that of the anterior teeth and the premolars,Overfilling rate and leakage rate were higher than the anterior teeth and premolars,the average course of treatment for 3.03 weeks.The incidence of endodontic Interappointment Emergencie(EIE)was 5.7%,with the highest incidence rate of 15.47% in elderly patients over 70 years old and 2.22% in young patients under 19 years old.The success rate was 94.72%.The successful rate of just filling was 98.34%,76.34% due to under filling,89.02% over filling and 76.92%under filling.The success rate of vital pulp teeth was96.81%,the success rate of dead pulp teeth was 93.07%.Shaded composition power was 89.26%,non-shaded composition power was97.25%.The success rate of crown repair was 95.44%,and the success rate of crown opening was 89.62%.Conclusion The hospital stomatological RCT root filling just filling rate of 78.8%.The success rate of RCT after two years was 94.72%.Preoperative shadow of the apex,the quality of root filling and the degree of complete restoration of the crown is the main factor for the efficacy of root canal therapy.
